Levitation is so common, Because it results in ultrapure melt without needing melting crucible and sometimes can happen in vacuum. In this method, inductor, as well as inducting the current and heating a metal, overcomes the metal weight, and melts through a suspended situation. Then, after turning off the induction system, melted material is poured into a mould.

Advantages of induction hanging melt:
- Rapid alloy preparation
- Gas-metal reaction kinetic studies
- Solidification studies
- Liquid slay and refractory reaction studies
- Melt purification and homogenization
- Super clean and ultrapure melt
